- winoweenie - 08-30-2001 Sorry guys, I thot I'd posted this when I did the 98 Cohn. The 97 Reserve is 10 years from being civil. Opaque, closed nose, let it set in the glass for 45 minutes whilst I partook of friendlier potions. As this was at the tasting room, it never fully opened. Shows a core of dense cherry, spices, and a touch of wood. OP. The 98 on the other hand came from a bottle that was opened the day before. Clear ruby with good aromatics. Red cherry, a touch of cassis, with a pretty core of rounded tannins. Good entry with a solid middle and a decent finish. A very good effort for the vintage but not up to the outstanding 97. These notes are from memory as I was at the TR at 10 am sharp. WW - wondersofwine - 08-30-2001 Thanks for rechecking. Better a little late than never. - winoweenie - 08-30-2001 WOW, the memory's the 2nd thing to go! WW |
