Paired with dry aged top sirloin steaks. Deeply hued almost opaque. Deep currant and black fruit flavors with hints of mocha and graphite. Smooth with just a small gaggle of very fine tannins on the very long finish. Very nice food wine. A gift from my son some years ago. 14.5% Alc/vol. Might be just a tad beyond peak.

That's a great vineyard and very good vintage. Nice gift!

One of my top 5 from the 97 vintage. It's sister bottling the SLV also is in the group. Musta' been slightly misstored afore your sons' purchase as the ones I've had lately are all on the upsnort. IMHO this bottling is still 1-3 away from peaking but in enny shape this be some good-drinking juice. WW
