1st nite Tues. 2 old friends joined me. B.V. Tapestry slid on the table yelling "Drink Me!" and we did. Polished and just as it should be developing. 1-2 years from peaking. Raymond Generations appeared next. One his best efforts I've had. Slick, svelt, and sexy. Just about at the top of its' game. Lastly we had the Caymus Napa. Shedding some of Buckos' fav flavor and the nose and fruit starting to shine. Needs another 4-5 to peak. Wed nite had 8 people instead of 6. Started with the Pahlmeyer. Beautiful structure, gobs of fruit and loads of flavors. Viader brought the whole magilla to the table. Nose of violets, red and black fruits, and sweet spice. Liquid satin with lacy intervals woven in with a tremendous finish.Stonestreet Legacy was a surprise. Held its' own in this company. Whitehall Lane Morisoli has it all and some backup. Needs another 2-3 to resolve some sweet, rounded tannins. Spottswood was the next contender and made its' mark. Supple yet wieghty entry with a perfectly gorgeous nose, this outstanding bottle is 2-3 from perfection. And TA!TA! the wine of the nite. Phelps Insignia. IMHO ranks with the 75 as the best Insignia in my experience. Amazingly, and not at my urging, everyone wanted to vote for their favorite of the evening. There were 2 of the 8 with some knowledge and experience, 4 who just liked wine whatever, and 2 who just liked drinking. Their ratings were almost identical to mine. Phelps, Spottswood, Viader, WhitehallLane, Pahlmeyer, and Stonestreet. Finished with an 83 Eiswein that noone believed. Good time had by all. Thurs was joined by an old friend from Denver and his CB. We did the 93 Orlando St. Hugo, 93 Bacio Divino and the Mt. Veeder. Didn't pay a lot of attention as we were catching up on 3 years but know the Bacio was outstanding different. Friday wound down with the last of the moccassins (what-ever) the Simi Reserve. Seems at peak. Lovely wine and finished off the dinner with beer. Too bloomin' old fer this foolishness. Glad to be home. Taking another sabbatical for a couple to let ole' Liv-Kid recover. WW

Were the Pahlmeyer, Raymond Generations, BV Tapestry, etc. all the same year? What year?

All of the wines WOW except the 93 Bacio and 93 Orlando were from the 94 vintage as posted in the Moderator thread before I left. Sorry I didn' put it in again. WW Managed to save bail money one more time Drewski. And yes KC the reason my notes were so brief was I was so tired after 8 hours in the Sands Convention Center the only thing I could do is write the order of opening on my wrist like I was in college. My wife hates doing shows in Las Vegas, but not as much as Javits Center in NYC.
