- bigredwines - 05-26-2007 haven't seen any posts on this.dark and dense in color, dark fruity nose, tastes of blackberries and a little spice.really nice juice, well balanced 3.5 lapper finish.paid 41. at the local bottle shop.score it 92/92.Can always count on great wine when Bobs name is on it.I understand there is a new winemaker for the last couple of years.I have the 03 and 04 mt.veeder and affinity and the 03 howell.have not tried them yet.(don't want to be a baby killer) - winoweenie - 05-26-2007 Ah! Good call there "Grasshopper" ( to quote a great phiolosopher). WW - oostexan - 05-27-2007 BRW, I have a couple of these in the cellar as well that I have been sitting on. Do you think it is ready to go now or in a few years? - winoweenie - 05-27-2007 Needs another 1-3 at least Ox. WW - bigredwines - 05-27-2007 I agree with WW. if you had more than two I would say one now but with only two I would say not for another 3 and the last one I would wait at least 6 or 7 years. When I find something I like I try to buy at least a 1/2 case and will try the first one approx. 4 or 5 years after the vintage.then one every year after. I'm sure everyone has there own way of rotating their inventory. I would like to say this works everytime but I have opened wine that is peaked and is starting to slide, then it goes into must drink now catagory. |
