- chandlerbing100 - 03-08-2001 I am making a cheese fondue and it calls for Neufchatel wine. I can not find this wine ANYWHERE!!! Can you give me another suggestion for a specific type and brand of wine to use?? Thanks! A German Kabinett or an American Riesling between 1% & 2% residual sugar (RS). Actually it is a place... - chittychattykathy - 03-22-2001 In this case, yes, a cheese. I would try to get a swiss white wine for the fondue. (I prefer a red wine to drink.) Other ideas: From Savioe, France, an Apremont would work great, or a Picpoul de Pinet, from the Languedoc. - Innkeeper - 03-22-2001 Found a Neuchatel at www.popswine.com under Other Imported Wines on their inventory. Good research there IK! - winoweenie - 03-22-2001 Used to drink-em alla' time till I switched to GeWWurtz. WW - Thomas - 03-22-2001 Yeah, I used to drink them too, but find they are over-priced today. - Innkeeper - 03-22-2001 Have never made fondue without Neuchatel, but then again haven't made it in twenty years. Glad to see it's popular again, and where to get the wine. |
