As usual this reliable producer has put out a stellar product from this fine vintage. Dark ruby. Nose of red and black fruits. Sweet spice, some leather and a tad of cassis all come over on the palate. Soft tannins shut down the finish prematurally but give this another 2-4 and git it on. A little pricey at 41 by the box but definately worth it. 90/89. 13.8% alc. WW

Opened with lunch yesterday to go with mashed potatoes, mashed cornbread and mashed Cardinals! A season from Hades fer shurr! As good as the Phelps was it couldn't displace the bad taste in me mouth watching last years contender look like high schoolers playing tag team feetsball. How lomg does the season last and what are the idiots thinking whenced they talk 18 game seasons??WW

I understand the bitter taste. Carolina Panthers managed only three points against Atlanta and Nebraska U lost to Washington, a team they dispatched easily back in September. Guess I will root for Kansas City Chiefs (although I don't like their odds against Baltimore) and Chicago or New Orleans.

I just don't think its gonna matter much if the Patriots get rolling.....or staying rolling. I'm not sure any team is gonna be able to stop them.
