- robr - 03-25-2006 This is the Chilean Concha y Toro special reserve bottle. Intense black cherries, some figs and plums, greenery, oak, coffe and vanilla. A lot of alcohol on the nose (14%) and quite a bit of tannins on the finish, but softening a bit in the glass. I'm really enjoying some of these better reds from Chile. They do have more of a veggie flavor to them, but are good wines for the money. This one was about $16. BK 89 - Innkeeper - 03-25-2006 To each his/her own. - Drew - 03-26-2006 Yup, the only S. American wine I've really enjoyed lately is the 04 Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexander Merlot...very,very good imho. Drew - Innkeeper - 03-26-2006 My only beef is with Chile; enjoy much from Argentina including the beef. - robr - 03-26-2006 Drew, Try this merlot too. Excellent, in my opinion. http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum15/HTML/000227.html |
