Nice little wine here. Especially for the dough!

1994 Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon; Napa Valley (CA, US) - $19.99

Nice color although nothing out of the ordinary one way or the other. Enticing nose filled with black cherry, sweet blueberry, cedar, vanilla and leather. On the palate, a bit less depth than I anticipated with good fruit but not big and rich like many '94s. Somewhat tart but that could be due to less than perfect storage. (Note: This bottle has not been stored in a climate controlled cellar) Overall, great bottle of wine with our grilled Porterhouse steak although I'm not certain this wine will break any records for longevity.

good call Van, i like the Hess cabs - nice consistency & ready to drink on release...

I guess the only thing that surprised me Rick was the fact that this particular bottle seemed to not be as deep as others have been. I guess I expected more for some reason.

Otherwise, you're right, good on release.
