A Bordeaux style blend of estate grapes grown in the upper Carmel Valley. Cabernet, Cab Franc, Merlot, and petite Verdot make up the blend in this Big, Bad, Boy. Completely devoid of the "veggies " that used to dominate reds from this gorgeous valley. Opaque with nary a hint of edge color. Aroma starting to develop. A rush of black fruits, cassis, and cigar-box. Large entry, a middle palate that's weighty and a long finish that is shut down after 20 or so seconds by the tannins.A wine to let sleep at least another 3-4 and with the stuffin' to last till Hotsie gets into his new cellar. Potentially a 90-93. 25 box price on release. WW

Pulled this beauty from the cavern yesterday. Has put on the necessary civility that comes with age and has developed more aromatics. The fruit is still dominate but the new addition is a smidgin of cocoa and sweet spices. The finish has softened and is a solid 4+ lapper. Kick this lovely up to a 91/94. Still has some tannins but they are a non-factor. WW
