When I first tasted this wine in 03 I was impressed with the density, balance, and amount of fruit it displayed along with the overall quality. I made a mental note to try in a couple. Forgot about this until yesterday. Put another gold star on Fritzs' scorecard. 78% Cabernet, 11% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and4% Petitew Verdot this has to be one of the 5 best wines from the 00 vintage. Red and black fruits, violets, spice, and currant are on the nose and come over to the palate along with a touch of mountain bramle. Solid entry, weighty center and a 4+ lapper finish. This exquisite Spring Mountain property lays it on the line. 91/90. 45 by the box. 13.5% alc. WW

Had this and the 98 Oroppas for lunch today with BRW. Made him promise to post under the penalty of the dreaded "Lost Corkscrew". WW

Another for lunch today. Lovely brite ruby. The nose has added weight as does the entry. This is an extroadanry bottle of juice that has to rank with the top 5 botlings of this uneven vintage. Not quite enough improvement to upgrade the score yet. WW
