2002 Napa Valley Vineyards, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon ($10.99 NH Liq Store). Alcohol level: 13.5%. Another offering from Gallo by way of Louis Martini.
Very nice wine for the buck. Gives a stong shot of red and black fruit on the nose and upfront. Blackberries, black currents, cheeries, sage, and vanilla (oak) come together for a complex and jammy middle; and the finish lingers surprisingly.
Would not be surprised if this was made from surplus overripe fruit. Would also guess it was aged out!
Matched it with burgers grilled over charcoal and oak chips, with potato salad. Very nice Monday night.
