A super-premium bottling. This blend is 80% Cab, 10% Cab Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 2% Petite Verdot. Heady almost candied nose. Deep ruby. Spice, cassis, red brite fruits with a tad of plums, and some vanilla bean on the nose that all goes over to the palate. Soft entry, solid center, and a 4 lapper finish. One of the top wines I've had from this vintage. Still needs another 2-4 to peak. Very good 1st effort. 90/88. 69 by the box. 13% alc. WW

Somehow this sucker's flown under the radar for awhile but I found him for lunch today. The nose has really exploded with red fruits, flowers, and sweet spices jumping from the glass. Silky, lovely, entry with a firm, solid center and the finish has expanded to a solid 4&1/2 lapper. Kick this hummer up to a 91. Close to TTOIG but will improve with the silky tannins lurking on the finish providing plentyof structure over the next 1-3 years. WW

Had another last nite and it's definately ATTOIG. Amazingly this is the only vintage of this wine I've seen from this vineyard. Guess I'll go on their website and learn more about them. Chateau De Klein, Deer Park, Ca.??? Where the bloomin be Deer Park? WW

Another dead soldier bit the dust for lunch yesterday. Nose has strengthened and the wine has really become more focused. Black fruits are dominant and the finish has definately expanded. Still holding strong and looks like it wont fade into the sunset tomorrow. Really good stuff. No change in scoring. WW
