Tried tonight with a tenderloin main course. The wine has cassis on the nose and the black currant fruit carries over to the palate, along with black cherries, mint, cedar and surprisingly well-balanced oak vanilla. The wine finishes with moderate, drying tannins. Overall, a nice wine but nothing special. Maybe it will blossom with more bottle time. At $75 a bottle, I will take two Karl Lawrence Cabs for the same price any day of the week.
