Delicious, bought a half bottle. $13

St. Supery 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon beautifull nose of rich Plum, Rapsberry and a slight draw of vanilla.

The body again showed raspberry, blackberry and notes of black cherry.

finish was well balanced containing steady and balanced tannins.

Overall a Very Tasty experience. Defintely recommend giving a try.

Anything else similar to this that I may want to try?

I'm not sure if the flavor profile is similar, but some Cabernet Sauvignon in the same general price range that have received favorable reviews from the participants on this board are the Chateau St. Jean California Cabernet Sauvignon (I liked this one better than the Avalon), the Avalon from Napa Valley, Sebastiani (Sonoma).

I will try the Chateua,

I like the Avalon, I have 1/2 a case in the cellar, and the Sebastiani but, not as much as the St Supery. This one was really excellent.

I will see if I can find the St. Jean.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Gregg. If you check further on this thread you'll find many reviews that fit your flavor profile. IMHO the Joel Gott I reviewed was a killer bottling. WW

WW,

I have read through the threads just looking for some new tasters that people did not post notes on.

I did see the Joel Gott, 815, picked up the last 4 bottles at the store. Haven't had the pleaseure yet but, look forward to giving it a go. I will post my notes once I do.

Thanks for the advice.

greggj: if you liked the st. supery, let me offer a couple other wines that you might enjoy -- and both are less expensive. the '01 louis martini sonoma county cabernet sauvignon is a good fruited, rather elegant wine -- similar to that st. supery. and it goes for $12-14 a bottle. don't know about the '02 louis martini; haven't tried it yet. and you might also want to try the '02 hahn meritage if you can find it. $14-16. i hear the '03 also is nice, but haven't tried that yet either. i think you'll like the ch. st. jean and joel gott mentioned above, but i think they are definitely jammier than the st. supery.
