- Ketabear - 05-16-2002 Hi - I'm looking for a medium-bodied new world chardonnay to go with young garlic soup. Any suggestions? - Innkeeper - 05-16-2002 Hi Ketabear, and welcome to the Wine Board. Look for 2001 Yalumba Unwooded Chardonnay ($10) from Australia. If you can't find this particular one look for other unwooded chards from Oz or Kiwiland. The thought of wood and young garlic together makes my skin crawl. - Thomas - 05-16-2002 You've got some of those Chardonnays in Canada--look up the wineries of Ontario (Niagara on the Lake): Inniskillen, Marynissen (sp), Vineland Estates, Pelee Island, and more. Most of the Chardonnays are medium-bodied, clean and crisp. - mrdutton - 05-16-2002 Where do you get spring garlic. No one around this flea bitten old sea shanty of a town even knows what I'm talking about when I say I want spring garlic. |
