- SusanK - 12-06-2005 I have never really drank wine before so I am new. My doctor has informed me that I should drink 1 glass of wine a night to help lower my cholesterol. I have heard around that red wine is best for health. I have tried Merlot and other wines with Merlot and a mix but have not liked any of them. I do like "blush". Does someone know if red wine really is better for your health and if so what can you recommend that has more sweetness and less "heavy" tasting? - Innkeeper - 12-06-2005 Hi Susan and welcome to the Wine Board. Pinot Noir is a tad better than others healthwise, and tastes good too. - wondersofwine - 12-07-2005 You also might try Lambrusco, an Italian red wine that is made with some sweetness. - robr - 12-07-2005 Try Port. It's red, has a lot of alcohol (20%), and it's really sweet. |
