- mufat - 04-23-2004 What type of licensing is required in California if I want to start a mail-order business for "wine gift baskets" from my home. I am planning to get a website plus the phone/fax ordering. abc.gov tells me 3 different things : type 17, 20 and a combo of 17/20. Please help - Thomas - 04-24-2004 mufat, if you can't get a definitive answer from the department that issues the license, you certainly won't be able to get one from here. I suggest you get a lawyer who specializes in dealing with alcohol licensing. - chittychattykathy - 04-25-2004 This type of license is clearly listed in our WSLCB (Washington) book, I know, I have one. I would highly doubt that Califonia's would be more complicated then Washington's.It is a newer license here, but by new I mean two years or so. I would go into few a wine shops in your area, (do you have a special one) and ask them how good their agent is and if they would please share that persons name with you. I have given out the number of m/our agent(s) to several people with questions, even if they are out of the area they can lead them to the right person. - wineguruchgo - 05-02-2004 Welcome to the wineboard! Another thing you have to get straight, before you do this, is which states accept alcohol deliveries and which do not. You might lose 1/3 of your markets because it's illegal. |
