The state legislature failed yet again to pass a direct shipment bill, due to lobbyists' maneuvers and Democratic party members fleeing their responsibilities. The governor is muttering about calling a special session to address the contentious issue of re-districting, and it's remotely possible that such a session could revive Senate Bill 770, the direct shipment bill....remotely possible, but very unlikely IMO.

The wholesalers were out in force, as usual; but this time, the bill actually made it out of the Senate and through the committee structure in the House, only to die for lack of a second reading on the House floor prior to adjournment. Makes me want to cry. And git a rope!

I used to have a lot of clients in Austin & every time I'd visit I was surprised by the number of turkey buzzards (vultures) that ride the thermals above the cliffs all around town. I finally figured out WHY there were so many buzzards swooping around in the area.
Professional courtesy, the Texas legislature was in session.

Those runaways forgot rule number one 'Don't mess with Texas'. They spent too much time grandstanding as psuedo-Okies & not enough time TCOB. That ought to cost 'em.
