We are attending the Fredericksburg VA. winefest for the 1st time this year. Has anyone been there? Is it worth going. Any comments would be appreciated

Sorry it took so long for any sort of a reply. I, personally, have not been to the Fredericksburg Wine Festival.

However, you can visit this web site for more information:

After looking around the above mentioned web site, I got the impression that it could be fun to visit the wine festival! Unfortunately we have plans for the weekend of October 13 & 14.

I have not been to that festival. However, I have visited some of the Virginia wineries and have spent the equivalent of about one and one-half days sightseeing in Fredericksburg. It's a very historic town with houses associated with the Washington family, etc. and battlefield site. Try to allow some time for sightseeing. There are also some impressive restaurants in town (I recall one in a building from colonial times).
