February 7-9, 2008

I don't think they have posted all the events yet (there are usually some wine seminars and a tasting where all the vintners are represented) but the Thursday night wine dinners and the gala auction are posted. Dinners this year include Robert Foley (he attends every year), Caymus, Viader, Chehalem, Martinelli, Banfi, Jed Steele, Pax, Flora Springs, ZD Winery, Copain, Crocker & Starr, a representative for New Zealand wines, a Spanish wine importer, etc. Website is

I registered for the Martinelli wine dinner at Bloomsbury Bistro.

We really like Martinelli Pinots, and Anne was fond of their Chard when we visited the winery in August. The Zins are a bit much for my palate, some of them sporting alc levels that soar over 17%. When I first looked at the list, I thought for a second that you would pick Steele, but then I remembered that you did the Steele thing a year or two ago. If you get the chance, try some of the Copain wines -- we've had really good experiences with them, especially their PNs.

Sounds like a fun event, and I look forward to your report in Feb!

I did Steele dinners a couple times in Nantucket. I tried to get into the Martinelli dinner two years ago (at Nana's Restaurant in Durham) and it was sold out before I got any info on the TWE. Last year was Markham wines at a private club.
