2002 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Fay Block 5C Merlot - TheEngineer - 11-13-2014
A great friend of mine is quite familiar with SLWC wines and he has been disappointed of late about the performance of these wines.
He is concerned with their relative lack of aging capacity of these wines. I understand where he is coming from when I tasted this wine. Not back but bricking and and developed already for a wine who's competition may still be relatively youthful for a 12 year old wine, especially one of this price.
Having said that, it was an enjoyable wine for me, earthier and ripe, some tea notes, but not of one piece. If you have one, it should start to go on the drinking list soon.
