2005 Chateau de Beaucastel CDP - TheEngineer - 06-06-2014

It's been a while since I've had a beaucastel. So plucked a 375 ml to see how this vintage is get on.

Deep, dark brooding, and still very young. There is a ton of fruit in there, very generous, ripe smooth and polished in its delivery (especially for a Beaucastel). Open, some leather, earthy notes but slighlty behin the fruit. Nose has a nice floral note as well. Apparently 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise and 20% other.

Looking good and well early in its life. Good point to see it though.
