Numbers - Innkeeper - 11-18-2013

Scores in the 90s from the likes of Parker and Wine Spectator mean less than nada to me. It means even if you can afford it you won't like it!

RE: Numbers - TheEngineer - 11-20-2013

Are you talking about their annual love fest of their top 100 release?

I use to watch that and then after a few years got quickly over that. I'm not saying that its worthless and that those that read it are doing something wrong. Far from it. Read what you like and it can be even educational (I dare say that I even like the Rhones they picked in the top 10 this year). But it matters so little to me.

For example, I love Burgs right now. I'm doing everything I can (and afford to) to learn more about them. My wine of the year so far is a burg but it's my fav of the year.... and it will not be limited to a current release. I want to learn a bi more about chablis, I go study that. So my interest lie in what I am currently looking into at the point in time and everything written about those items prior to this point is something that I'll read.

Ah! Yes, well that would be something I can change. The store is not giving me much to work with other than these ratings... I understand.
