Gary Farrell, 2003 Russian River Valley, Pinot Noir, Jack Hill Vineyard - Jackie - 06-09-2013

Yesterday, a friend and I opened a bottle of 2003 Gary Farrell Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from the Jack Hill Vineyard. Marvelous bouquet. Lovely wafting aromas of cherry and raspberry. Gorgeous red plum color. Smooth and unbelievably mellow yet rich, like liquid velvet with a long, long finish. It has just gotten better and better over all these years. This would have been made by the RRV Pinot master himself.

Jackie, I read this and I wondered, did Gary still have the winery then? He did, you lucked out. He sold the name in 2004 and he must of had a non-compete clause because he appeared with his current wine Elysian years later. Pick that up when you have a chance. WF
