1978 Shown and Sons Cabernet Sauvignon - TheEngineer - 03-04-2013

We had opened this bottle first, from the cellar of my friend who passed away last year. The bottle was in pristine shape and great fill level. I had good hopes on opening.

Nose was very reserved, mostly sandalwood, seemed past its prime. but given some air, the wine improved, there was as sweetness to the wine now, some brambliness, and dried fruit. It was charming and a decidedly interesting bottle. Just like my friend. Cheers to you chap. Thanks for sharing yet another lovely bottle.
