2003 Comte de Vogue Chambolle Musigny 1er Cre - TheEngineer - 11-04-2012

We had a wine dinner in prep for an up coming auction. The auction house and the company at dinner were outstanding. The restaurant (Toque) was also outstanding, the food done incredibly well. I'm posting on the wines that were at the tasting and some that people brought to the event to share. Regardless of whether I thought the wine was good or not, I appreciated the opportunity to taste them and learn from them

03 Comte de Vogue Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru: This was the wine I was most interested in tasting tonight. While it says CM, 1er cru, most that know the wine, know that it is declassified Musigny from younger wines, but it is still a Musigny. I love Musigny.

This one was very reserved but pretty on the nose, very clean, pure,
obviously some attention paid here. The wines was well put together but wine lack any real sexiness, it did not catch your attention and hold it.

Some noted that it is too young for Musigny and that the hot vintage requires more time. I hope so. It did drink very fresh still but it did not impress as much as I wanted it to.
