I had wanted and had ordered the flancelliomoooo(sp) from fontodi but the restaurant was out. So instead, I ordered a 2009 Monvertino. What a perfect foil for the insanely great food at il borgetto! The wine was a crisply crunchy red berry, med body with a wonderful acidic backbone to the wine. That worked so we'll with the grilled flavors and the super tender florentine style of theseassive t-bones. Ah.... Dinner under the perfect sligjrly breeze a warm Milan summer night. Life is good again!

Sorry..... it is montevertine....big spelling mistake likely caused by the gallons of vermentino that I've been quaffing down as well to keep the heat down.

vermentino/montevertine: you creatively joined the two!

Anyway, when you taste Sergio Manetti's Montevertine wines you taste closer to what Chianti Classico used to be.
