A friend of mine has acquired a bottle of 1970 Dom Perignon and wonders of its value. Should he try to sell it or just enjoy it?
I know no more than that, but if there are specifics to be gotten, I am able to get them.

You won't get rich trying to sell a single bottle of any wine, even if it is of some value. Collectable wines are usually bought/sold in case lots at auction or in private sales.
Chill it down, pop the cork (carefully) and give it a taste!
Then you'll know if you have a good bottle of bubbly!
FYI - I checked the Wine Spectator TN's and they had nothing specific for the 1970 Dom. They gave the 1969 a score of 89, said it was priced at $225.00, and had the following comments about it: "An incredibly powerful, full-bodied Champagne that needs food to show its best. It lacks a bit of finesse, but it bursts with flavor--from buttery toast and butterscotch to chocolate, orange peel and grapefruit."
The last Dom I bought was their 1990 vintage at a discounted $99.00 a bottle. I only have four left.......... Quite frankly I prefer the Perrier-Jouet Fleur de Champagne over Moet & Chandon's Dom.
