I just returned this week from the October 2011 Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise. Wow. It was the best week ever. We sailed from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Loreto. I actually never even bothered to get off the ship, where all the action was. When we were in port was a good time to catch up on sleep...

The whole week 1400 people enjoyed nearly round the clock Blues Music from some great performers: Bobby "Blue" Bland, Elvin Bishop, Bobby Womack, Tommy Castro, Tab Benoit, Ruthie Foster Quintet, Charlie Musselwhite, Taj Mahal, Leon Blue, Otis Taylor, Randy Oxford, Eden Brent, Billy Branch & the Sons of Blues, Cedric Burnside Project, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, "Girls With Guitars" (Samantha Fish, Cassie Taylor & Dani Wilde),Gaye Adegbalola, Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers w/ JP Soars & Hydraulic Horns, Deanna Bogart Band, Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band, Steve Willis, Rev Billy ... I may have forgotten a few.

There were 6 places on the ship where music was being played -- all day until like 3 AM. Everyone performed at least 3 or 4 times during the week -- like 100 performances you would have paid concert admission to see. There were also special events like a Gospel Blues Brunch and a Culinary Demonstration with Ruthie Foster. AND there were unbelievable pro jam sessions every night. I just can't tell you how great the music was. It just doesn't get any better.

A totally awesome experience... I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the Blues. This was my second BluesCruise but it's been going on for 15 years, or so I've heard.

Two BluesCruises next year will sail to the Caribbean. Anyone interested go to "bluescruise.com":http://bluescruise.com for more info. They book early and sell out. (Prior Bluescruisers get priority booking.)

BEST OF ALL FOR WINE LOVERS - you are allowed to bring your own wine and champagne on board. Most cruises do not allow this. But the BluesCruise people have negotiated this perk for all their cruises (since they charter the entire ship for the week). We took 4 cases of champagne and wine onboard... and drank all but a few bottles.

It's really the most fun you'll ever have in your adult life. I swear!
