Attended a high school reunion in Fredericksburg Tx last that included a performance by the Platters at the Rock Box Theater. Outstanding! Great time! If you get the chance to see these old buzzards, go for it! Spent the night at a B&B, Limestone Cottages on Main or something like that.... wonderful! Superb gourmet breakfast this morning, delivered to our cabin. Absolutely delightful! Went on up to visit our place north of town and was sad to see it so dry.... worried about the oaks surviving this damnable drought! Pray for rain. Often.

They were outstanding performers during their heyday so would expect nothing less now. Maybe we can persuade Drew or KC to send us some of their excess. WW

Excess what??? Attended my 50th HS reunion last weekend. Wonderful 3 day affair. It really was fun catching up with all those old fogies, but I can't understand how most of them look so flippin old!!! Maybe not enough red wine in their diets.

Yeah, I turned to D at one point during the show and asked "Who the hell are all these geezers?"

"You mean the singers?" she says.

"No, I mean the people in the audience!"

Last week we went to see Tony Bennett in concert. The audience needed to be moved by ramp and wheelchair; after a flashback of the old days of concert going, it made me feel weird.

Re, the Platters: the guy who replaced the original, Tony Williams, is ok but not quite there. I saw them in the 80s when Williams was still alive. Amazing voice inside that man.

I recently saw Little Anthony and the Imperials: they sound exactly as they did 50 years ago.

I can really relate. Was in Scottsdale 2 weeks ago and shopping at an upscale grocer. At the checout the 60-ish lady behind the counter after taking my CC said "You have the same name as an old musician I heard in Chicago when I was a young girl. I was around 13 and he was probably 60 or so". Dint have the heart to tell her the old geezer was still alive and well. SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!WW
