2009 Tobin James, Monterey County, Chardonnay ($16.00, but came in Fall '10 shipment). Alc level: 14.2% (Chardonnay!). Actually wasn't that bad despite some oak.

It gave a lot of fruit including Mango, Kiwi, Grapefruit, and Pineapple (according to the label and my wife). In the middle was some more fruit and some oak. It finished nicely.

Here is why it wasn't so bad: We matched it with boneless, skinless chicken breast that had been rubbed with some EVOO and then a rub of herbs de Provence, smoked Paprika, salt, and pepper, and then grilled over charcoal and pecan chips; along with rice, and salad that included kale sprouts from our garden after thinning.
