I had a taste of the 06 and was really impressed so purchased a 6 pack of the '07.

I'd never even heard of this wine before and its very very very good! For the price around $60 a pop, not cheap but delivers everything I want in a Cali Cab, big fruit and good balance.

Nose is quite restrained but still one could get some smokiness, graphite, minerals, blue and black fruits. Very nice balance is the first impression, good fruit, good mouthfeel, smooth but not without structure. Very easy drinking and nicely put together. If you have not tried this, please do look for one to have a go at it.

Does it just say California or is it from Napa, Sonoma, or other appellation?

Sorry, forgot the details. This was the Howell Mountain bottling. They have two Cabs, the second from Mount Veeder. I've not tried the Mount Veeder bottle. Until recently, I've not even heard of this winery before.

I had not heard of them until your posting.
