14.2% alcohol. Viscous. Deep amethyst color. Somewhat candied dark cherries with violets on the nose. Rich kirsch flavor on the palate. A bit of tartness accompanies full-bodied fruit. I feel the over 14% alcohol not so much in the taste and texture of the wine but more in the effect it has on my physiology after consumption. Well made but not one of my favorites from this legendary producer.
(Liked a bottle I tried in 2010 better. It may be bottle variation, or mood, or just not aging well.)
