Will be heading out to the Hill Country early afternoon tomorrow to attend a short course in viticulture offered by Texas Tech Univ. at their sattelite campus in Junction Tx. Back late Friday.

Y'all be nice now, ya hear? No eye-gougin' or crotch-kickin', jes' clean fightin'.

I didn't think ww and hotsy could both leave us alone in the same week.

Got thoroughly firehosed with info.... too much to absorb quickly. Very interesting.

You thinking of doing a little grape growing?

- hotwine - 01-21-2006

Have been thinking about it for a couple of years but there's lots to consider, especially location.... haven't found what I'm looking for yet. And the capital outlay for start-up of about $10K/ac in Texas (not counting the price of the land) means mistakes get real expensive real fast. Still thinking.

I can tell you a thing or two about how to watch money sink into a hole called vineyard.

- hotwine - 01-21-2006

Yeah, been thinking about that. I've got other money pits now and don't really want another.

I should also say, aside from watching the money vanish into the earth, I have no regrets about having learned how to grow grapes.

I thought a hole to throw money in was a boat....

Best one I ever found was owning race horses.WW
