- val - 05-31-2001 I recieved a 1980 STE. Michelle Chateau Reserve Cabernet Sauvingnon for our wedding in 1982 and planned on saving it untill our 25th anniversary, however, my husband found it leaking and discovered the cork half in the bottled and corrosion around the rim. I called the winery and was told American wine does not last as long as european wines and the life expectany is only 5 to 10 years. I've had several people tell me that it doesn't sound right..does anyone have any information that they would like to share? - Bucko - 05-31-2001 The wine is history. Even in good condition it would be marginal at best. Bucko (Send it to Foodie -- he'll drink anything.
