Greetings from a new member. Here's a fun situation. I was fortunate to get a case of 90 Lafite Rothschild from a good friend (indeed) a few years ago. However, I have been bouncing around the world and my wines have bounced with me. I'll be opening the first bottle for Christmas and we'll see how journeys from France to Africa to Australia to Korea to California and now back to Africa have influenced the wine.

Happy Holidays. Fred

Fred, welcome to the board.Hope the bounce is in the court when you open this neat bottle. The only wine that travels really well is Gallo Hearty Burgandy. Hope you`re lucky. Keep us posted. winoweenie ( Set the bottles you`re going to drink up-right for a week before opening. Mite hep`)

Winoweenie - thanks for the suggestion about uprighting the bottle. It gets opened next Friday, so I'll upright it today.

The Lafite seemed to have survived its travels well. We also had a '92 Opus One. Frankly, both were good, but neither was "life changing" - maybe too early for them. Or, more probably, my palate really isn't refined enough!

Happy New Year.

Hi vanetten and again welcome to the board. Probably too early for the Lafite, but the Opus should be ready. " Life- Changing " is one of the moments that are marked by not only by the wine, but the mood, the company, and the occassion. Hope it comes with the next bottle winoweenie
