Well deserved!!! - newsguy - 03-02-2006 thanks for all the good wishes, folks. brappy: i'll be living in bethesda, but working downtown, so will have wine shipped to the office. - Georgie - 03-02-2006 YAY! Good for you! - wondersofwine - 03-02-2006 Congrats. Are you referring to the California Barrel Tasting sponsored by Macarthur Beverages (Bassin's)? I went for the 2000 and 2001 vintage tastings but haven't been back since because of the expense. If you can do it (especially on someone else's dollar--go for it!) I will be in College Park, MD this Saturday to see a concert version of the opera "Vanqui" at Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the U of Maryland campus. The composer, Leslie Burrs, is the brother of a friend of mine from church (I know his mother and step-father and have heard Leslie perform at our church while visiting Fayetteville.) I've mentioned Leslie before--he is a classical and jazz flutist/flautist as well as a composer. For his CD's go to http://www.leslieburrs.com and click on "Recordings." He lives in Philadelphia and the opera has been performed there and in Ohio I believe but this is my first chance to see part of it in live performance. - chittychattykathy - 03-15-2006 Wish I could come drink wine with WW! Hope everyone is well! I am crazy busy, in the middle of opening a winery in four weeks-- don't worry-- not mine! I'm "just" the "director."
