- cpurvis - 06-09-2006 Greetings all! Haven't participated in the Board for awhile (too much work, not enough play), but still read your posts. Am moving back to the San Jose / Bay Area this month, so a good time to jump back in. Question: A friend asked if I could recommend a book "or something wine-related" as a gift for his dad (who has started a small vineyard in the mtns of far northern California). Foodie's last book is one option. Any other suggestions? - wondersofwine - 06-09-2006 University of California published a nice book on American wines a year or two ago. I don't recall the name off hand. It gives some background history on many of the wineries. - Thomas - 06-09-2006 Foodie's next book: ba, da, bing - winophite - 06-10-2006 I too have been looking for wine info. What is the title/publisher of Foodie's book? - cpurvis - 06-10-2006 Foodie's 2006 book is: Wine: The 8,000 Year-old Story of the Wine Trade (Hardcover, 2006) ISBN: 1560258713 Publisher: Pub Group West 272 pages Language: English - wondersofwine - 06-13-2006 The book I was thinking of covers only Pinot Noir (but that variety fairly extensively). |
