Happy New Year to all. I wish I could replace you today KC, since the only thing I had get over from last night is too delicate to discuss.

A belated Happy New Year message for all of you. I celebrated New Year's Eve with a friend at a French restaurant in DC--four courses and a glass of Champagne (and we also ordered a half-bottle of a St. Emilion wine.) Nice evening. The drive up to DC on December 30th was nerve-wracking--rained all the way from Fayetteville to Fredricksburg, VA and I arrived after dark. Much smoother drive going back on New Year's Day and listening to Missouri-Arkansas bowl game and Michigan-Florida game. My teams won both games. (Michigan won despite losing two fumbles near the goal line and throwing two interceptions and being the underdog.)

Happy 2008 to all of you terrific folks. I spent New Year's Eve with my sweetie and his broken leg. Yawn....I guess quiet has its merits.

Same belated HNY! Just got back from the OR coast after wretched excesses of food, wine and feetball -- .

Georgie,
I remember a New Year's Eve when I was living in Maryland and one date dummied out at the last minute because he was sick. Then another guy I was seeing (a pilot for the Department of Transportation) called and said he was sick too but could I come over and bring him some beer! So I spent a quiet evening with him risking some cold germs and hearing some inside tales about Cabinet members who had flown with him.

Sounds like a nice evening and a nice memory!

- TheEngineer - 01-11-2008

So did you get sick?

- wondersofwine - 01-11-2008

Surprisingly, no.
