Hello All,

Was wondering if it would be possible to start a new link or thread with everyones favorite restaurant. Either local or one they visited in thier travels.

Could be fun to hear about new restaurants and new menu items they encountered along the way and the wines paired up with them.

I know many mention dining out, but often the name of said restaurant is never mentioned or it's locale. I think this would help others when traveling instead of relying on travel guides.

Just a thought.

Thanks for listening and thanks again for such a great BB.

Many of us do mention favorite restaurants by name, when we think it appropriate. However, I for one prefer we not establish a new thread on the subject, so we can keep the focus on wine. Favorite hotels, vacation spots, vehicles, mistresses and all that sort of thing would be fun to talk about, but would dilute our friendly discussions on the juice.

Think if you go back a year on my posts you'll find the names of many of my haunts by name. Agree with Hotsie that this board is about wine. We've had lots of posters with agendas that have made suggestions about various and sundry subjects that would further these themes.I have a daughter that has a nice place in the Williamson valley of Prescott. E mail me the name of your place and I'll stop in for lunch my next trip up. WW

Thanks for the replies and nuff said. It was just an idea, thought I might be able to pick some ideas up.

Will keep an eye on all posts for restaurants in area I might be in.

Cheers to all.

WW,

Your current email wasn't available in your profile. But we are the 21 year old restaurant on Cortez St. with the Irish name.

Don't want to break the rules of the board by advertising the name.

Let me know when you're headed up to this part of God's country and I would be happy to meet you.

Normally I work the evening shift, but would be more than happy to be in earlier, just to meet you.

From all I have read it would be a true pleasure to be in your company or to be your humble host at lunch or dinner.

Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Forgot I'd removed it some years ago after some idiot took umbrage at a remark I made to his abusive behavior on the board and started flooding my E-mail with hundred, yep HUNDREDS of nasty e-mails a day.The only way I got it stopped was by having my son-in-law threaten to sabatoge his whole computer with re-accuring virus'. What a nightmare. I'll post before my next trip up and would love to meet you for lunch. WW

If you are planning a trip to say Monterey, CA or Portland, Oregon or New York City, etc. you can ask the board for restaurant recommendations. I have responded on another wine board to someone who was going to be in the Raleigh-Durham area and several have responded concerning restaurants in Baltimore or San Diego. In some areas of the country I am totally ignorant (don't know the restaurants around Los Angeles or Boston (but do know Nantucket) or more than a couple in Chicago, etc. When you are planning a trip, ask then.

To Az Wino. I'm planning a trip to your fair city next week. E-mail the address of your restaurant and your phone where I can reach you. vbatchelor3@cox.net. WW
