- winoweenie - 03-21-2007 these are the wines to choose from. If there are more than 8 attending I'll probably send 2 of the top 3 or 6 if less than that. It's more important to get a full pour than just a sip IMHO. Please vote for your top 6 picks and the winners will be the most picked wines. WW Eric Russell Sonoma Z.D. Napa Beringer Alluvium Gallo Barilli Creek Robert Sinskey Reserve Corison Napa Ch. Montelena Estate Livingston Moffit Ristow Quinto de Pedras Raymond reserve Joseph Phelps Napa Silverado Napa Mt. Veeder Napa Dehlinger Estate. All are 1997 Vintage. - wondersofwine - 03-21-2007 These are all Cabernet Sauvignon or Meritage/Bordeaux blends? My top three: Eric Russell Sonoma (cuz I love their Zins so much) Joseph Phelps Napa Dehlinger Estate for my top six I will add: Mt. Veeder Napa Chateau Montelena Estate and either ZD Napa or Gallo Barilli Creek There are a number here I haven't tried so this is surmise rather than expertise. Oops, I'm confusing Eric Russell with Eric Ross (which WW did once too I think.) Its Eric Ross zins I like, so I will revise my list omitting Eric Russell and moving ZD into fifth place and Gallo Barilli Creek into sixth. [This message has been edited by wondersofwine (edited 03-23-2007).] - Innkeeper - 03-21-2007 Agree with WOW except I would swap the Eric Russell with the Mt. Veeder. - Kcwhippet - 03-21-2007 OK, I'm thinking my top six are: Ch. Montelena Phelps Napa Dehlinger (because I haven't had it yet) Corison Mt. Veeder Raymond - winoweenie - 03-21-2007 I'm sorry WOW but, yes, they're all Cabs or blends. Put them in your order of preference so I can have a numerical basis for comparison. Tankee. WW - wondersofwine - 03-22-2007 I think I'll leave the order as I revised it above starting with Joseph Phelps as #1 and ending with Gallo Barilli Creek as #6, omitting the Eric Russell. - winoweenie - 03-23-2007 Whata' Guy! WW - Kcwhippet - 03-23-2007 I'm thinking that if most people bring a few bottles, along with Verne's stuff, that we may have way too much wine. We're going to have to do some serious tasting, folks!! I'm thinking of bringing a few more bottles of the 87 Guigal Hermitage (hope they still have some life left), a few Pinots and a vertical of a CS, maybe Bressler, Jones Family or Karl Lawrence. BTW, is everyone, but Verne, still in? - Innkeeper - 03-23-2007 Yup. - Glass_A_Day - 03-23-2007 Mt. Veeder Napa Dehlinger Estate Z.D. Napa Robert Sinskey Reserve Livingston Moffit Raymond reserve I am trying to make my choices for what I will pull for the trip. I know I have a bottle of Abreu Madrona Ranch ready. May be some interesting Aussies too. - Glass_A_Day - 03-25-2007 My list looks like: 2000 Abreu Madrona Ranch Cab 2002 Kamen Estate Cab 2000 Concha y Toro Don Melchor Cab and maybe a couple of zins like 2004 Turley Pesenti 2004 Martinelli Giuseppe and Luisa - wondersofwine - 03-26-2007 I will probably bring a Domaine Serene Pinot Noir and maybe a Kosta Browne P.N., possibly a dessert German Riesling and a Spanish red or a Zinfandel. - winoweenie - 04-05-2007 Was gonna put the box together and send this week but our weather here is hitting the low 90s. Will see what next week brings. WW - TheEngineer - 04-06-2007 I'm still planning on coming. Saw KC the other night and he asked me so this is what's prompting this. But with my travels, I won't know till I get there.... Planning to bring (you know what they say about plans...) Germans and P.N.'s 2001-2004 Wolfer Goldgrube Rieslings Various 2002 Walter Hansel P.N. regular and South Slope 2000 Domaine G. Roumier Morey Saint Denis Clos de la Bussiere 1er Cru and a few other nick nacks..... - wondersofwine - 04-06-2007 With those Rieslings and the Burgundy I certainly hope you make it. Look forward to meeting you in person. - winoweenie - 04-14-2007 Eng Baby you haven't cast your vote on the wines I'm to send. As far as I can see you're the last one. Get them dudes done so's I can get the final count. AND Gene, you have a vote too if you want. WW - Bucko - 04-15-2007 Verne, I don't think they want your wines. They want to take pictures of those flamingo legs of yours -- Ripley's Believe It Or Not is waiting. - Glass_A_Day - 04-15-2007 You can bad my votes Verne. - winoweenie - 04-15-2007 1st flock of migrating Flamingos came thru today and the lead flyer had a picture of you in your shorts in his beak Herr Doctor. You must be their poster boy. GAD does this post mean you done be goin? WW |
