Just got back from my wine dealer telling him he sold me a corked bottle of wine (Moet Burt Imperial). Said he has been selling wine for 29 years and never heard of it. Gave me another bottle only because I spend $100's there. How can I get this guy some information to educate him?

If he has been selling wine for 29 years and does not know what "corked" means, I think that I would be looking for another shop! How can you trust recommendations..........

Anyone who has been selling wine for 29 years, and who has no idea what corkiness is, likely is neither capable nor interested in being educated.

The only observation I would make here is Tim TOLD his dealer he had a corked bottle...proper etiquette would have been to take the nearly full bottle back to the merchant.

Still, there's no excuse for the merchant's ignorance.

He can educate himself by sending $3 to: Wine Trader, Attn: "Corky", POBox 1598, Carson City, NV 89702...he'll receive a sample of the chemical which causes cork taint along with an explanation.
