I was just checking www.weather.com. Iterestingly it's up to -6 here, but up in IK country it's really torrid - up to 1 above zero. It's getting to be shorts weather in Maine.

The concrete guys are here right now pouring part of our driveway. Calm and 45 degrees, high of 50 today. That's why I love it here, never too hot, rarely too cold. I feel for all of you back east. I spent one winter on Lake Michigan -- never knew such cold could exist.

We're all the way up to 5 above!

This has been one hellava two months. Last month, for the first time in twenty years, I had to contend with flooding because of rain and higher than normal temperatures. Today, I drive here from NY City to a house with no water (frozen at entry) and a snow thrower that popped a drive belt.

We heat with gas, and luckily the gas man was on time.

One thing that does give a little pause is that we have a box of vino coming from TJ.

We have a massive cold front coming in after the week-end. The prediction is that our high Monday will only be in the high 60s'. Long-johns time. WW

The shipment I ordered while out at Tobin James arrived today. Needless to say, I was worried. Fortunately only one bottle had a raised cork, and leakage in the its slot in the container. That was 2 PM our time. It was an R&R Syrah. I immediately opened and decanted it and sat in our dinning room table until dinner. Then went out and got some lamb loin chops to have with it. The wine could have used some trip rest, and perhaps another six months to a year in rack, but it was fine with the lamb chops. Tasted as good or better than it did in the tasting room. Plan to hold the other five syrahs, five '01 Legend Cabs, and one (hate to admit it) '01 Merlot at least the six months to a year. So much for winter shipping.

You got a TJ Merlot?!?!?

Read my trip report. Yeah, it's long. Sorry.
