Hi,

I will be visiting Napa within the next few days with some clients who would prefer the out of the ordinary wineries unlike Mondovi, Berringer etc.

Any recommendations?

I've included Hannah and Frank Arroyo already.

There is a mix of wine perferred.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Globalmermaid, and welcome to the Wine Road. For an idyllic boutique to start with try Bettinelli Vineyards; http://www.wines.com/bettinelli/home.html

Hi Globalmermaid and welcome to the board. Starting at Yountville on 29 I'd reccommend first visiting Bell cellars just south of town. Next would be Cosentino on the left just past Mustards. Then up the road is Cakebread one of my favorite wines on the right just past Oakville. Next up the valley on the left is Grigich Hills, and hope Mike is holding court. Caty-cornered across the road is Quail Ridge and back across 29 is Whitehall Lane who, IMHO is making some world-class wines.Going on North is Raymond and Heitz cellars, both outstanding producers. Then for a real treat, find the road just past downtown St. Helena that goes up Spring Mtn. There you can visit Spring Mtn Vineyards, Schweiger vineyards, and Way up the hill at the back is the crown Jewel, Pride vineyards. Don't know how long you'll be there but this is a start. Have fun WW

Only Napa? Sonoma and Mendocino offer real jewels as well.

I second the recommendation on Bettinelli Vineyards. Good stuff.

Also, I enjoy visiting the Silverado Trail wineries when I'm in Napa. Just pick up a map and follow the road. They tend to be less touristy than those along the main drag.
