- bigbradyb - 11-28-2000 i was wondering if any of you have experienced banyuls with chocolate or merlot with chocolate and what you thought about it. also what goes well with strawberries? i know i may sound dumb but i am very eager to learn about wine, i have found it very interesting so please be patient. thank you all. - Thomas - 11-28-2000 Check some of the past postings on chocolate and wine in the Wine and Food Affinity forum. You will find what you seek. As for strawberries: my wife likes to drop a strawberry in her glass of Champagne. It's a nice match. - Innkeeper - 11-28-2000 The sweet Banyuls would not only be a better choice with the chocolate than the (almost always) dry merlot; but it may also be the sweet red you are looking for. - mrdutton - 11-28-2000 For Breakfast: 3 ounces Champagne, 3 ounces Orange Juice (fresh is best) and a dash of Grande Marnier with a strawberry afixed to the rim of the flute, this drink is called a Mimosa. (Don't use your best Champagne, but don't use drek either.) For chocolate I think IK has hit the nail on the head, he's right-on. It's not my taste, but the ladies seem to go for it. (I don't want anything getting in the way of the wine.) |
