This forum is ideal for members who want to swap or sell wines amongst themselves. It is also excellent for those who want to know how a specific vintage of a certain wine is currently performing. However, it is not best equipped to answer those who simply want to know what the going price of a particular wine is. For that, and for those who are looking for a specific wine to buy, particularly a hard to fine one, you should go to www.wine-search.com, where you simply type in the name of the wine (doesn't have to be the whole name, just a key word, such as Mouton) and the vintage, select the country and the currency you want to be quoted in and a few seconds later you get your answer. This site is a commercial one and covers a large (and growing) number of retailers throughout the world. If you wish to purchase or simply want more information about who is offering the wine, you're one click away from the relevant retailer's site. It's a great site for those who are looking for wines of a certain year (birthdays, anniversaries etc), as you can leave the wine name blank and simply search on the vintage year. Likewise those people who are looking to build up a vertical tasting can search on name alone.

You won't find every vintage of every single wine at wine.searcher, but you should find all the most collectible. If you're just looking at a ballpark figure:
Martini Cab '64 WS:$90 JL:$100
Martini Cab '68 WS:$?? JL:$95
Martini Cab '70 WS:$70 JL:$90
The WS stands for the current price according to wine.searcher, JL stands for the value in 1989 when James Laube published CALIFORNIA'S GREAT CABERNETS. Thus the ballpark figure for your 1968 is $80, which isn't bad for a wine that cost $6 when released.
Don't forget that (and wine.searcher) is the price you might hope to get - or a bit less - if you sold the wine directly to someone else. If you sold it to a retailer you might expect as little as 50% of the current WS price.
