Hi everyone,
I'm so happy to find this site! I have a recipe for pork roast with a port wine and fig sauce. It doesn't specify what type of port to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Seamouse, and welcome to the Wine Board. We use Taylor's Tawny Port for cooking. As a matter of fact we use it almost everytime red wine or port is called for. Go through a 1.5 of it every month.

Thanks Innkeeper. I'll go with the tawny. Glad I asked- my friend was sure it should be ruby (just because she liked the name... lol).

The sauce sounds interesting. Care to share the recipe?

Wonder,
I love EVERYTHING Giada makes (and have the hips to prove it, LOL ). This will be our Easter dinner.
