Does anyone know of a database of wine reviews specially made for PDA's (Personal Digital Assistants?) such as Palmpilots? I have seen a CA wine database at Palmgear.com, but what I am hoping for is a scaled down version of Wine Spectator's on-line database that one can take shopping and pull up wines at the store prior to purchasing a bottle. There are neat programs for managing your personal wine collection, but not too much WRT keeping up with the latest reviews.

Am also interested in any other tips or good ideas that PDA users have WRT wine shopping using their PDA's. Thanks. - Michele

Hey, good idea!

I use my Palm PDA for everything but never thought of using it for this. You mentioned programs for managing you wine collection. Can you tell me where to find these?
Thanks

Cellar Mgt:
As for managing your wine collection:
Wine Cellar 1.41

Wine Guides:
http://www.handbase.com/gallery/index.html
Above is the URL for a database program which has a gallery of subprograms written for the database. In the Food and Drink category you'll find red and white Wine Spectator selections as well as the ability to manage your own wine tasting notes.
Another wine guide I ran across is from a news article located at: http://www.palmgear.com/news/shownews.cfm?sid=79239920000128170034&resID=9480

Looks like I answered my own darned question after a little further searching.

Have not tried any of these.

If any of these links don't work just go to palmgear.com and search on "wine" and it'll give a list of wine stuff. Good luck. Post a note if ya decide to try any of these and have success. - Michele

Actually it's better to print out postings on the Wine Board, fold them up, and put them in your pocket. Takes up less room than a PDA. These are also handy for starting up conversations in wine stores with owner/managers and fellow customers. For example a month or so ago we plowed the Pinot Noir ground well, and came up with a couple of dozen excellent Pinots for under $15.00. It is fun to take such a list to the wine store. "You mean you only have one of these; gee you know they were all recommended by the Wine Board."

Innkeeper,
Well, theres no way I'm giving up my PDA, but your idea sure seems like fun - I'll do it!
