Hi Peaches, and welcome to the Wine Board. Could it be Maximin Grunhauser Abtsberg Riesling Spatlese, C.Von Schubert? It is a white wine (riesling) that runs around $30 per bottle.

If it is a red wine it might be Maximus out of California. One of the nicest wines I've had in a long time.

Hey WGC, would like more info on that wine. I always thought that Miximus from California was brewed, not vinted.

Not "Miximus " it's Maximus - like Circus Maximus!

It's actually named Bennett Lane Maximus and here is a link to their winery. Little tiny producer that just entered Chicago market.

I chose to give you the stats on the 01 because they are saying it will rival 97'.

My take on the wine? Big, round, velvety, deep, chewy flavors that just don't quit. I love it. Brought it into the restaurant the minute I tried it.
