- Scout - 04-10-2006 What is your opinion on wine made from other fruits than the grape? - wineguruchgo - 04-10-2006 It depends what they are fermented into...wine or spirits. I, for one, am a huge Calvados fan which I believe could be considered Apple Brandy. Yumm! Not bad when done with pear either. - wondersofwine - 04-12-2006 Foodie will tell you that they are not technically wine and should be called fermented beverages from fruit or some such. I enjoy plum wine at Chinese restaurants and have had strawberry wine in Germany. They are a different category than the "real wine" made from grapes and should be judged by their own criteria. - dananne - 04-12-2006 Bonny Doon makes a raspberry framboise which is delicious. - Thomas - 04-12-2006 WOW, I will say no such thing, not because it isn't true, but because I have learned that unless people pay for information they really aren't interested in having it fed to them [This message has been edited by foodie (edited 04-12-2006).] - Scout - 04-12-2006 Thanks for your thoughts! |
