What is your opinion on wine made from other fruits than the grape?

It depends what they are fermented into...wine or spirits.

I, for one, am a huge Calvados fan which I believe could be considered Apple Brandy.

Yumm! Not bad when done with pear either.

Foodie will tell you that they are not technically wine and should be called fermented beverages from fruit or some such. I enjoy plum wine at Chinese restaurants and have had strawberry wine in Germany. They are a different category than the "real wine" made from grapes and should be judged by their own criteria.

Bonny Doon makes a raspberry framboise which is delicious.

WOW, I will say no such thing, not because it isn't true, but because I have learned that unless people pay for information they really aren't interested in having it fed to them
